#WeCantBreathe. Can you?

In the last few months protests have erupted all over the United States with people of all ethnic backgrounds coming together shouting for justice for minorities in police brutality cases.  This site explores both sides of the story and how both social media and the mainstream media have exploded one incident into an entire movement.

And this started how?

This summer a white officer shot and killed a black teenager. Some believe the teenager, Michael Brown, had his hands in the air in surrender when the shots were fired. Others believe Brown was charging at Officer Darren Wilson after already previously engaging in physical contact with him.

There are few facts of the Michael Brown case that can go undisputed. Even articles that claim “lists of known facts” tend to carry a biased view of the events that day.

What we do know is this:

  • On August 9th Officer Darren Wilson fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown.
Protesters raise their hands in support of Michael Brown.
Protesters raise their hands in support of Michael Brown.

Apparently, despite several eyewitnesses that is the only conclusion we can come to as a society.

So what really happened? Explore the following pages and take the time to see what both sides of the story are saying. Unlike the pages of this site, there is no black and white answer, but there is here an opportunity to learn, form an opinion, and gain a voice.
